This garden was originally a concrete patio with shrubs bordering the property. The owners wanted a contemporary design, including shelter from the strong winds that swept across the garden and prevented them from enjoying their outdoor space.
Hedging to shelter the existing patio has been added, along with a patio on the leeward side of the house. The planting beds have been created in Interesting shapes in order to add structure and to help the unusually shaped borders integrate with the house.
Planting for a new terrace off the side of the house is currently being developed.

Garden beds by the terrace allow for vibrant seasonal planting to be added by the client, to be enjoyed on a sunny day beneath the sun umbrella. A new laurel hedge will provide shelter from the strong Nor'wester.
